MEET DR ROB WILLIS
BVSc(hons), CVA(IVAS)
Dr Rob Willis is a veterinarian with over 22 years of clinical experience and a special interest in chronic pain, neuromuscular dysfunction and mobility-related disorders in both compainion and performance animals.
Graduating from The University of Melbourne with honours in 2004, Rob has worked throughout Australia and the United Kingdom across a wide range of veterinary settings before developing a focused interest in musculoskeletal and mobility medicine.
Rob's work centres around the relationship between pain, movement and neuromuscular function - particularly in cases where animals demonstrate reduced mobility, altered movement patterns, performance limitation or chronic discomfort despite the absence of obvious structural disease.
His clinical approach integrates veterinary medicine, acupuncture and neuromuscular techniques with detailed movement and functional assessment to help improve comfort, coordination, mobility and quality of life.
Areas of particular interest include:
-
chronic osteoarthritis and degenerative pain
-
spinal and pelvic dysfunction
-
neuromuscular compensation patterns
-
subtle lameness and ridden performance issues
-
post-surgical mobility support
-
age-related movement decline
-
complex chronic pain presentations
Rob works collaboratively with primary care veterinarians and allied animal health professionals where appropriate, with a focus on practical long-term management strategies tailored to the individual animal.
Outside of veterinary practice, Rob enjoys spending time with family - particularly his wife and 3 children, snowboarding, basketball and following his beloved Hawthorn Hawks & Penrith Panthers.
